Professional Angling Promotions was formed in 2005 by Professional Walleye Trail Pro Angler Jon Thelen. Jon has established this business through many media outlets in the past several years. Commonly seen on "Saturday Morning" television, Jon has appeared as a host or guest on over 60 outdoor television shows in the past four years. These shows include: "Midwest Outdoors", "O'Neill Outside", "Outdoorsmen Adventures", "People Who Fish", "Keith Warren's Hunting and Fishing Adventures" and "In-Fisherman PWT" Television.
Over the past six years Jon has also written or been the subject of over 75 articles published in various magazines including In-Fisherman, Walleye Insider, North American Fisherman, Game and Fish Publications (MN Sportsman), Great Lakes Angler, ESOX Angler, Fishing Facts, Midwest Outdoors and Outdoor News Publications. From 2003-2008, Jon competed as a "Professional" on the Professional Walleye Trail. His accomplishments include 2 Top 10, 7-Top 25 and 11-Top 40 finishes in 23 PWT events and a "Coleman Cool Under Pressure" Award. In addition, Jon finished 5th in the 2008 PWT Angler of the Year race!
Jon also qualified for the prestigious Professional Walleye Trail Championship in 2007 & 2008!
